Ophthalmic checkups in children are particularly important as children’s eyes are still undergoing development, and an undiagnosed visual defect can lead to irreversible hypovision (congenital cataract, ptosis, strabismus).

Damage can often be avoided by introducing simple treatment approaches (glasses, contact lenses, surgery, orthoptic treatment), but it is essential to intervene at an early age.

Optimal results can be achieved before the age of 6 years and it is for this reason that we recommend doing checkups between the ages of 2 and 4 years.
